10th KOTI Colloquium (Korea Transport Institute - Korean Society of Transportation Research Collaboration) Held
10th KOTI Mobility Colloquium Held: Strengthening Research Collaboration Between Korea Transport Institute and Korean Society of Transportation"
On 6 March, the Korea Transport Institute (President Kim Young-Chan) hosted the 10th KOTI Mobility Colloquium to discuss ways to enhance research collaboration with the Korean Society of Transportation. The event was attended by Kim Young-Chan, President of the Korea Transport Institute; Yoo Jeong-Hoon, President of the Korean Society of Transportation; Lee Dong-Min, Senior Vice President of the Korean Society of Transportation; and professors affiliated with the society.
In the first presentation, Professor Kim Seong-Hoo of Hanyang University introduced a study on developing a transport mode O/D estimation model by combining communication data and travel surveys, highlighting the necessity of precise demand forecasting using machine learning. Professor Kim Eui-Jin of Ajou University presented research on enhancing data privacy through AI-based anonymisation techniques while improving the accuracy of transport planning. Professor Park Jun-Young of Hanyang University discussed a study analysing vulnerable sections for autonomous driving in urban areas using open-source data from the United States, aiming to develop traffic safety measures.
Professor Yoon Il-Soo presented research on an intersection signal control system using real-time autonomous driving data based on CTR algorithms and a study applying Large Language Models (LLM) for traffic accident prediction, emphasising innovation in traffic control technologies. Professor Yoo Soo-Min of Konkuk University introduced an optimisation plan for electric vehicle charging infrastructure using logistics vehicle trajectory data, stressing the importance of scenario analysis for efficient operations.
